Ascension Sounds is a 21st century music production house utilizing state-of-the-art technology to create, perform and record your music with unsurpassed clarity and quality. We provide music for your listening pleasure as well as scores and music education materials for personal or institutional use. Ascension Sounds will also create original music to your specifications, for any event or festivity whether it be a wedding, a concert performance, or any event where you need high quality original music. Robert Reno, composer, arranger, pianist and teacher, earned a Doctor of Music (DM) from Indiana University, Bloomington, where he studied composition with John Eaton, Donald Erb, Don Freund, and Fred Fox. He has been teaching music theory and composition, along with several other music courses since 1983, and has authored the text Materials of Music, a two-year music theory text for colleges and universities, and Foundations of Musicianship, a preparatory text for college music theory.
Reno is an active composer, having written music for orchestra, chorus, various chamber ensembles, and electronic media. His compositions and arrangements have been performed and recorded by several ensembles throughout the United States, such as the Seattle Symphony Orchestra, the Shasta Symphony Orchestra, the Simpson College Vocal Ensemble, the Vanguard University Chorus, the Indiana University Symphony Orchestra and IU New Music Ensemble. Reno is currently Professor of Music Theory and Composition at Vanguard University of Southern California in Costa Mesa, California.
