About R.T. Reno
R.T. Reno has been writing music since he was in grade school. In the 1970s, he played keyboards in several progressive rock bands. However, a keen interest in orchestral music led him to Indiana University where he earned a doctorate in music composition.
For nearly 40 years, Reno has been teaching music theory to college students who are majors, minors, or simply music enthusiasts seeking knowledge. His teaching approach in the textbooks reflects his years of observing how students learn musical concepts.
R.T. Reno is Professor of Music Theory and Composition at Vanguard University of Southern California.
